Haloperidol decanoate
Indications/Uses
Maintenance treatment of chronic psychosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild: 50-100 mg. Moderate: 150-200 mg. Severe: 250-300 mg. All doses to be given 4 wkly.
Contraindications
Neurologic disorder accompanied w/ pyramidal or extrapyramidal symptoms, comatose, severe CNS depression.
Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, hepatic dysfunction, parkinsonism, CV disorders. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Tardive dyskinesia, sedation; photosensitivity; cholestatic hepatitis; galactorrhea, dystonia, hypotension.
